                        Patriot Classic Debate Institute

June 24-July 7, 2012

The Patriot Classic Debate Institute strives to offer the most individual attention of any debate camp.  Low student-to-faculty ratios and an extremely active faculty allow us to meet the individual needs of every debater. The Patriot Classic offers opportunities for beginning through experienced debaters in policy, Lincoln-Douglas, and public forum styles of debate.  Our camp can also accommodate those brand new to debate, with our special break-out sessions for new debaters.  Our camp is open to high school as well as middle school students.  Coaches are also encouraged to join us over the summer.  

We offer one and two week options for residents and commuters.  Our residential option includes tuition, room in double occupancy air-conditioned dormitories, meals, and the opportunity to engage in extra practice.  The Patriot Classic Debate Institute also offers social activities, including a July Fourth celebration, for those choosing the two week option.  The commuter cost includes tuition, breakfast and lunch each day, and time applicable social activities.

One week option, June 24-June 30:  $500 for commuters, $800 for residents

Two week option, June 24-July 7: $900 for commuters, $1300 for residents

Students should apply and pay a $100 non-refundable deposit by May 5th.  

The camp offers discounts for multiple persons from the same family or the same school.  Financial aid opportunities are available.  Students registered and paid in full by May 15th will receive a discount.  Please email Kristie Cramer for details.  If you are a coach interested in participating in our camp, please email Kristie Cramer to discuss coach's role at the camp.

This year our camp will be directed by Kristie Cramer, with support by GMU debaters, and will include special guest lecturers.  Kristie has worked at debate camps such as the Ohio Debate Institute, Dartmouth Debate Workshop, Dartmouth Debate Institute, and Georgetown Debate Seminar.  As a high school coach, Kristie has placed students at just about every national tournament in the country and has coached students to the TOC, NFL and NCFL national tournaments.  Since joining GMU in 2010, the team has reached late elimination rounds at numerous tournaments including the CEDA National Tournament, winning every division of the Liberty tournament, and has qualified to the NDT.   Announcement of additional staff is forth coming.
